The DKI Jakarta Provincial Library and Archives Service held the Literacy Concise Family Initiative or Inisiatif Keluarga Ringkas Aksara (IKRA) for the first quarter of 2022 period. Apart from increasing public interest in reading, this activity also aims to provide productive and family-friendly activities for the DKI Jakarta citizens during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Collaborating with the Family Welfare Empowerment (PKK) Activators Team from various urban villages, this initiative succeeded in increasing the utilization of library collections by distributing books to 3,193 families who had registered, consisting of 603 families in North Jakarta, 483 families in Central Jakarta, 603 families in South Jakarta. 1,031 families in West Jakarta, 400 families in East Jakarta and 73 families in the Kepulauan Seribu.

All families who have participated will receive an e-certificate as appreciation and some selected families will receive goodie bags as a gift. Through this IKRA activity, it is expected that families in DKI Jakarta will have easy access to the books or other library collections without even leaving home.
