Celebrating Australian Embassy Jakarta’s Book Week 2022, Australian Embassy – Jakarta proud to support a series of events, including the launch of the Australian Reading Corner, a book reading activity and a Creative Writing Masterclass with Jasmine Seymour, an Australian Indigenous author and illustrator last week.

Inaugurated by the Australian Ambassador Penny Williams, the Australian Reading Corner at the Jakarta public library, Taman Ismail Marzuki, is an Australian-themed open area featuring a collection of art, cultural books for children and young adults. This corner also serves as venue for children and public to learn, develop cross-cultural insights of Australia and understanding of the relationship between Australia and Indonesia.

The event continued with an exciting book reading activity with Australian prominent author and illustrator Jasmine Seymour. She read aloud two books 📖: ‘Baby Business’ and ‘Open Your Heart to Country’ to 🇮🇩 students from 🇦🇺🇮🇩 BRIDGE Schools.
