DKI Jakarta Tourism and Creative Economy Agency held a video blogging (vlog) and tour guide competition with Jakarta City of Literature as the main theme. This competition happened as a promotion to Jakarta as a City of Literature by walking tour to some historical key visual sites.

Jakarta is a city with a vast history, culture, tourism destination, and culinary heritage. A city promotion and publication program are needed to introduce it to the public, and one of the ways is through digital content from this vlog and tour guide competition.

This competition was held on June 27 to July 1, 2022, with 24 team participants for vlogging competition and 18 team participants for the tour guide competition. Within 3 days, participants did a walking tour of three iconic locations of Jakarta: Kota Tua (Old City), Glodok (Chinatown), and Monas (National Monument) and already curated by judges from the Jakarta Tourism and Creative Economy Agency and Jakarta Good Guide Community.

By this competition, It is hoped that this competition can create a new generation of tour guides who can introduce, describe and tell us stories in comprehensive ways in the future.

With prizes up to IDR 37.5 million, it is hoped to the winners to be able to represent and shows a great tourism experience in this pandemic, especially on literature-related historical sites and collaboration between the city government and SME or creative economy industry in Jakarta’s tourism development.
